A George III Mahogany arm Chair
English circa 1765.
An elegant George II mahogany library armchair, featuring a generously proportioned upholstered back, seat and armrests covered in natural linen. The shaped back and scrolling open arms are supported on square legs decorated with pierced fretwork, united by matching pierced stretchers and terminating in brass castors.
This particularly well-proportioned example, displays carving of a notably high standard and has acquired a superb colour and rich patina.
