A George III mahogany serpentine commode in the manner of Thomas Chippendale, the quartered top with moulded edge above four graduated drawers with foliate ormolu handles between fretwork-carved canted corners and raised on shaped square bracket feet.
This commode, executed in rich, fine quality mahogany, is of classic design. With serpentine form, shaped square bracket feet, blind fretwork-carved canted corners and rocaille handles and escutcheons it is exceptional quality throughout and evokes the work of Thomas Chippendale.
