Provenance

Ricking Hall, Suffolk

Literature

Thomas Chippendale " The Gentlemen and Cabinet-Maker's Director, 3rd Edition Pl. LVII

An exceptional George III mahogany serpentine serving table, the moulded shaped top above a  fretwork frieze, standing on four carved legs each with a similarly carved brackets.

This superb table shows many of the designs created in Thomas Chippendales, 'The Gentlemans and Cabinetmaker's Director'. The serving table is executed in quality mahogany and the fretwork designs portray a clarity and confidence in execution, that indicate the table almost certainly being made in Thomas Chippendales Workshop
