A fine good sized and well carved George III gilded overmantel mirror, the fluted frame set outside three divided mirror plates incorporating carved draped husks, rosettes and floral sprigs.
This fine mirror is executed in the 'Antique Fashion' and this movement gained popularity in the mid 1770s.
Robert Adam was a designer working at the time and was an early adopter of the neoclassical taste, this mirror bares many of the designs conceived by Adam.
