A very fine George III Regency sofa table of elegant slim proportions in light coloured rosewood with a yew crossbanded top and edge, above two drawers, standing on fluted end standard supports with splayed legs terminating in brass box castors.
Sofa tables were relatively prevalent in the early 19th Century. However an example of this quality is extremely rare. The top is cross banded in a slim banding of yew wood, and the rosewood venners are a light colour that have acquired a wonderful colour and patina. The support struts also benefit from subtle fluting.
